Frequently Asked Questions
Salview has built-in support of images in the following formats: BMP, GIF, ICO, JPEG, JPEG XR, PNG, TIFF. If you need support of more image formats, you can add it by installing corresponding Windows Imaging Component (WIC) codecs (free or commercial, search for something like "WIC codec <image format>"). For example, you can try Microsoft Camera Codec Pack or FastPictureViewer Codec Pack. Please try commercial codecs before purchase to make sure that they work as you expect.
Salview is available in both 64-bit and 32-bit versions. If you have a 64-bit Windows, it's better to choose Salview 64-bit, because it will allow you to use more of your computer’s resources. However, 32-bit version works well on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. If you don't know which version to choose, the simplest approach is to try to install a 64-bit version. If the installer informs you that it isn't supported, then you can install Salview 32-bit.
